Born in 1958 in Clermont-Ferrand, France, Daniel Gastaud was a Student at the Beaux-Arts where he started painting and exhibiting from 1976 to 1978. During this period he displayed his work in forty-one (group and solo) exhibitions.
In 1978, he founded the Galerie Gastaud in Clermont-Ferrand dedicating himself to promoting the work of other artists. In 1992, Gastaud opened a gallery on Debelleyme street in Paris.
In 1993, he began painting again and he has exhibited throughout Europe and internationally, including galleries in Belgium, Bulgaria, United States, Quebec, Sweden, Greece, and China. He now lives and works in Paris.
