Jean-Baptiste Launay, professionally known as Jisbar, is a French pop-street artist born in 1989. Living and working in Lisbon, he stands at the crossroads of art history and contemporary culture, reinterpreting iconic masterpieces through a playful, parodic, and deeply symbolic lens. His works combine pop and street art aesthetics, integrating layered symbols, text, and vivid color to engage viewers in a dynamic visual dialogue.
Jisbar’s creations have been exhibited internationally, from New York and Paris to Milan, Taipei, London, and Dubai, and featured in prestigious institutions such as the La Joconde exhibition by the Louvre Museum and Grand Palais Immersif, and the National Museum for the History of Immigration in Paris, where his work Love is the New Fame was presented to President François Hollande.
In 2019, Jisbar achieved a world first by sending his reinterpretation of the Mona Lisa into space to mark Da Vinci’s 500th anniversary. His collaborations with Patek Philippe, BMW, Ducati, and F1 Authentics reflect his global appeal. Committed to social causes, he supports hospitals, environmental protection, and children in need. Through his art, Jisbar celebrates freedom, reinvention, and the ongoing dialogue between past and present.
